Description
This course will arm participants with the skills necessary to effectively develop web-based applications using Eclipse-based
Tools. Materials covered include web application architecture, servlet programming, JSP programming (including tag libraries),
and business model integration. In addition, user interface design problems will be covered. Participants will learn how to use
the J2EE Application Servers (Tomcat, WebSphere) to test and debug web applications.

Audience
This course is intended for professional Java developers looking to use Eclipse-based tools to write and test dynamic web applications using
server-side Java technologies (servlets and JSPs)
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Utilize Eclipse-based tools to develop static site content (HTML pages)
- Utilize Eclipse-based to develop dynamic site content (JSP pages)
- Write, test and debug J2EE-compliant web modules in the J2EE test environment within the tool
- Assemble web modules into J2EE-compliant enterprise applications
- Understand design issues relative to effective and successful web applications
- Configure and leverage the J2EE Test Environment within the tool
Prerequisites
Participants should have already taken ED100, ED110+ED400, or
ED410 – or have an equivalent knowledge of OOA&D, Java programming and Eclipse-based tools experience.
Familiarity with web technologies including HTML and web scripting is highly recommended. Practical experience as a professional
Java programmer is a plus.
