Description
The intention of this course is to introduce developers to XML and some of the e-business technologies that are being built with it.
In addition, students will learn to create XML documents, type definitions and schemas using the tools in Rational or WebSphere Studio
Application Developer. Finally, students will be introduced to various Java APIs used for processing and programming with XML documents,
and use these APIs from within RAD/WSAD.

XML-based applications
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the nature and structure of well-formed XML documents
- Understand the nature and structure of valid XML documents
- Understand XML transformations using XML style sheets
- Understand the Java APIs for XML manipulation
- Leverage the RAD/WSAD tools to create XML, XML grammars (DTD/XSD) and transformations
Prerequisites
Participants should have already taken ED100, ED110+ED400, or
ED410 – or have an equivalent knowledge of OOA&D, Java programming and Eclipse-based tools experience.
