Description
This course provides a thorough grounding in the principles behind and development of web services. Participants will learn the technologies behind web services, and how they are leveraged to develop network addressable services. Next, we cover the development of web services using Rational or WebSphere Studio Application Developer and test it using the integrated test environment. Finally, participants will learn how to publish their services in a UDDI registry. Additional topics address the future plans of this rapidly evolving technology

Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the function of Web Services and how they enables Business-to-Business and application integration across the Internet
  • Understand how RAD/WSAD, Web Services and the Java J2EE APIs provide a powerful enterprise application development and integration environment
  • Build Business-to-Business Applications, based on Web Service Standards such as WSDL, , SOAP, and UDDI, using RAD/WSAD

Prerequisites
Participants should have already taken ED100, ED110+ED400, or ED410 – or have an equivalent knowledge of OOA&D, Java programming and Eclipse-based tools experience. Practical experience as a professional Java programmer is a plus.
