Learn how to develop, test and deploy Portlets to IBM WebSphere Portal Server using IBM Rational (RAD) or WebSphere Studio Application
Developer (WSAD) and the Portlet Development toolkit. You will use RAD/WSAD to write your own custom Portlets and also learn how to
find a variety of pre-built Portlets to jump-start or enhance your application

This course is intended for professional Java developers looking to develop portal applications (i.e. portlets) using
Rational or WebSphere Studio Application Developer (RAD/WSAD)
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define, configure and test portlets within the WebSphere Test Environment
- Utilize portlet tags within JSPs
- Deploy portlets to a production application server
- Leverage knowledge of portlet lifecycle to create effective portlet architectures
Prerequisites
Participants should have already taken ED100, ED110+ED400, or
ED410 – or have an equivalent knowledge of OOA&D, Java programming and Eclipse-based tools experience;
familiarity with J2EE web application and servlets
